The USN are responding to the Chinese Naval build up. However, the Chinese are building their ships faster and more of vessels comparable to the Americans. Needless to say, the Americans are building more Virginia Class Submarines 13. More Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers (13) and one more Zumult Class Destroyer. And three more Aircraft Carriers which I think are pointless since Aircraft Carriers as a Force projection presence within the Atlantic, Mediterranean, Persian Gulf and Pacific Oceans, are strategic overstretch as the Chinese are focused on the South China Sea, Japanese Sea, and the Philippines Sea region and the Western Pacific region, depending on Samoa's acceptance of the Chinese Military port in Samoa will determine the Chinese military Blue Water power projection and will be the purview of the Chinese Military sphere of influence in the Pacific.   The Chinese DF 31A is the Chinese mobile road launched Nuclear ICBM with either a single warhead of 1 megaton nuclear yield or 3 to 5 MIRVs that can reach all major cities in Australia, including, Darwin, Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth, being launched from mainland China. There is no need for the Chinese to have Six of their Type 094 Jin Class Ballistic nuclear SSBN armed with up to 12x JL 2 nuclear missiles, each armed with either a single 1 megaton nuclear warhead or up to 3 MIRVs with 150kiloton yield each, launching within proximity from the Coral Sea, Arafura Sea, Timor Sea, the Tasman Sea, Pacific Ocean or Indian Ocean at Australian Cities.
