Shandong and Liaoning Aircraft Carrier Fleets, cut their teeth in Blue Water military exercises. Samoa crucial for the Chinese Blue Water Friendly Ports. By Tim Tufuga April 27th, 2023.

This is the reason why the Solomon Islands and Samoa is highly valued by China.

It is for their two Aircraft Carrier Fleets to find friendly ports for their Blue Water Fleets to visit and to replenish their supplies.
The Shandong and the Liaoning Aircraft Carrier Fleets have recently conducted their inaugural Blue Water military exercises. In January 2022, the Liaoning had sailed to the Philippine Sea and near Guam their furtherest military exercises as Blue Water exercises. On April 2023, the Shandong Aircraft Carrier had conducted their first Blue Water military exercise in the Pacific Ocean, also close to Guam.

This is the first time the Chinese Navy has travelled so far away from the South China Sea and from near coastal ports of the Chinese coastline. The Chinese surface fleet have now achieved a milestone Blue Water mission that is unprecedented in Chinese Naval history.
It is for this very reason that China has viewed both the Solomon Islands and Samoa as crucial Strategically important Partners in the Pacific. Especially Samoa, since it is the furtherest friendly Nation to China in a very hostile environment for the Chinese. Only Samoa may be considered as Chinese friendly and China will endeavour to protect Samoa for the obvious reason that their Blue Water Fleet needs Friendly ports to call upon in the Pacific region.
Thus far, there is no Nation in the Pacific region who are friendly to China. There was the Solomon Islands and there is still Samoa as their ONLY likely Pacific Partners.

The USN are responding to the Chinese Naval build up. However, the Chinese are building their ships faster and more of vessels comparable to the Americans.
