In 2023, China and Russia have partnered up in a
military alliance that impacts directly on Pacific Island Geopolitical affairs
with the Solomon Islands accepting more than Chinese Aid and humanitarian and
domestic infrastructural development, but, to also welcome the likely
visitations of Chinese Military vessels in the near future.
Meanwhile, the Sino-Samoan relationship has always
been close since 1976 when the Beijing regime had established their Embassy in
Apia. Recent Chinese foreign Aid to Samoa was very welcomed which would include
commercial investments and domestic businesses for well over a century of
cultural interactions. Samoan Australian relations comparatively speaking has
been extensive as well with Australia's regional hegemony more apparent than
New Zealand. New Zealand for the Samoans has been considered the Colonial Anglo
cultural presence within Samoan society since the 1914 invasion until Samoa's
independence in 1962.
Samoa does not have any military presence. Samoa has no military arm. Its population of 200,000 and Government had decided not to have a standing military arm for the obvious reason that Samoa is very geopolitically and strategically isolated from the rest of the world. Samoa has very little natural resources that are required by developing and more developed economies apart from human resources via sporting talent and seasonal workers in Australia.
A decade ago the Chinese had initiated the Strings of Pearls foreign policy initiative later rebranded as the Belt and Road Policy to extend the Chinese cultural and economic largesse in China Aid to underdeveloped and developed economies throughout South East Asia, Asia Minor, Africa, South America and Oceania.
The AUKUS treaty was established to counter the
nascent purported Neo-Sino Imperialism via China Aid humanitarian and
philanthropic goodwill for many developing economies including Samoa. China had
even proposed off the cuff a likely development of the Asau Port for future
Chinese commercial and even more importantly as a potential military port of
call, for visiting Chinese naval vessels. This consideration near American
Samoa, was considered highly risky for AUKUS member Nations.
Samoa understands this fear of Sino-Imperialism and with the favourable relationship of Samoa with China the Australian Government have undertaken a new approach in promoting the AUKUS agenda to the South Pacific. The recent Virginian Class Submarines procurement would mean that the Pacific Ocean will be part of the Australian regional purview which would also consider Tonga, Fiji and Samoa in the Central Pacific region as a likely Australian Virginia Submarine hunting ground patrolling for likely Type 096, Type 095 or the Type 094A, Chinese Nuclear Submarines, since their scope and reach would easily cover the entire Pacific Ocean right up to the US West Coast.
Samoa once again has become an international
strategic point for potential naval engagement beneath the depths. The
likelihood of a direct conflict the Anglo American military alliance of AUKUS
with the Sino-Russian military seem an ineluctably destiny within the next
decade or sooner, Samoa, Tonga, PNG and Fiji are being wooed with the
Anglo-Celtic cultural affections, and most notably with the Anglo Christian
legacy from the London Missionary Society, (Congregational Church), the Wesleyan
Church, and the American Mormonism, that would impart a rigid Anglo Cultural
imprint upon all Pacific Island cultures that would eschew the alien Chinese
culture from influencing the Pacific Island cultures which would in turn win
the hearts and minds of the Pacific Islanders away from the Chinese.
Meanwhile, the economic destiny of the Samoans is more common sense focused which would view China as the hand that feeds the Samoans rather than the Anglo Cultural influence and the constant reminder of the Eurocentric colonial past and the Blackman's burden.
China and Russia for the Pacific region is the Whiteman's burden of decolonialism and anti imperialism notions which has aimed to counter the Eurocentrism and the affections for the Colonial past which would include the Anglo Cultural Christian faiths indigenised to the Fa'aSamoa Ekalesia Fa’apotopotoga Kerisiano O Samoa (EFKS) which is the indigenisation of the London Missionary Society imposed Congregational Church, the largest Protestant Church membership in Samoa, would be considered as the direct legacy of the British Colonial influence upon the Samoan Society. Other Christian, Islamic, Bahai, religious influences have replaced the pre-European Animism and Polytheism of the traditional Samoan cosmological religions for the obvious more advanced civilisation faith of the coloniser. The Samoan is not atypical of other Pacific Island Colonial and religious enlightenment which would subjugate the Pacific Islander to conformity. Like the Colonial legacy, AUKUS represents the preservation of the Anglo American cultural affinity for the Pacific Islanders which would ensure that the Colonial religions is entrenched in the cultural establishments within Samoan society would also translate to the AUKUS colonial ties for the established Samoan to their Anglo American Masters.
China and Russia as the leaders of BRICS Plus, has presented to the world, the alternative world order. This world order would be considered the very antitheses to the Anglo American AUKUS military alliance in which Samoa is also being asked the question to be committed to the Anglo American cultural familiarity of their Colonial Masters away from the likely nascent Sino-Russian BRICS world order as the alternative for Samoa and Pacific Island region future into the next century.
In conclusion, it appears very apparent that the
robust Sino Asia Pacific militarism has revealed that the Chinese are becoming
much more militarily resilient and more advanced in many military weaponry
systems that will not only equal the Americans but to even surpass their
military capabilities well within the decade and certainly well within the next
century. The age of the British Empire and the American Hegemony has come to an
end.
The Ukrainian Conflict has become a nexus point in time whereby the European Nations have coalesced behind Ukraine to counter their deep rooted fears of an emergent Eurasian Russian Empire encroaching upon Europe in a latter day Golden Horde Xenophobia of the Middle Ages. The Tatar Hordes has been swept up by racist Europeans fearing the purported great replacement of the European race with multiculturalism and the perpetual rise of China and Asia in the eyes of Europeans and North Americans.
BRICS Plus has become the antitheses to the Eurocentrism and the dominance of Europe over the world, from the International Criminal Court to Interpol, to the Western Banking system, the BRICS Plus economic Bloc has become the alternative non-European cabal aimed at excluding Europe and North America from the rest of the world. The rest of the world has become a cabal unto themselves with BRICS Plus.
Samoa has come to a fork in the road point in choosing their allegiance either to AUKUS and the Colonial past of old, or to look into the next century or the rise of a new Asian Superpower, through a robust and growing China, partnering with Russia, which will directly challenge North America, Britain, Australia and New Zealand in the Pacific Rim. Samoa remains in the centre of the Pacific Ocean and along its periphery is the likely world war and Samoa will be sought after for their strategic position in the Pacific Ocean sought after by the expected American and Australian Virginia and Los Angeles Class nuclear attack submarines, and Chinese Nuclear Submarines as well as surface vessels.
Soon, Samoa will be asked to choose a side.
